Yesterday I had lunch with a friend of mine.
I know that’s not such a big deal, but this is a friend whose husband passed away almost a year ago in a tragic accident. Her world-view and perspective on life will never be the same, and she shared some really inspirational words with me that I wanted to pass on to you.
Aside from catching up on both of our recent travels and lives, we talked about her current efforts in her business, and how she has been completely devoted to her own personal growth this year.
She said something that really struck me, and it made me think of you.
“We are amazing creatures. We are capable of soooooo much more than we think.”
It wasn’t until she had to unexpectedly face the most difficult experience in her life, that she was able to truly see her own capacity for contribution in the world.
What if it didn’t take tragedy to help us see how amazing we truly are?
What if we didn’t have to face our biggest fear before we could become more comfortable with being afraid?
What does it take to do the thing that is scary, or aim for the goal that feels too big?
I wish I had all the answers for you, I really do.
What I do know is that there is power in TRYING. In fact I think there is more power in failing than never taking a risk.
If there is a dream inside of you rotting away, do you think it might be time to just try?
I think at some point we all walk the line of being *this close* to failure at the same time that we are *this close* to being successful. The problem is you’ll never get to see which side of the line you land on if you don’t try.
What are you willing to try this week? Just for kicks.
You’ll always regret the things you didn’t do, more than the ones you did.
I’m cheering for you!!!
